Today is her 32nd birthday – and what a year it’s been for her! Not only is she pregnant with her first child, but she was also one of the most sought-after actresses for new TV shows this spring. I want to congratulate Becki on her special day and wish for her coming year to be an even better one than the last. And I’m sure it will be with all the recent happenings in her life.
Huge news – Becki Newton is pregnant with her first child! I’m so incredibly happy for our Becki and husband (and soon-to-be father!) Chris Diamantopoulos. I know Becki will be such a grounded, open and great mother to their child. Leave your messages for the overjoyed to-be parents by dropping a comment!
Due to this (and the fact that Jordana Spiro has left the production), Love Bites has been moved to mid-season instead of it’s earlier announced spot on Thursdays.
Below is a video of Becki Newton describing Love Bites as a romantic comedy about love, sex, relationships, marriage and dating and introduces her character, Annie. Be sure to check it out. Does Becki look hot or what?
The full-length preview of Love Bites has become available on the Internet, and I have included the video in this post. Becki really is great as Annie (granted, I am a bit biased) and she seems nothing like Amanda from Ugly Betty. Check out the preview right away and let me know what you think!
…and the Love Bites updates continue! Today I’ve added the first five episodic stills from the show’s pilot episode. Becki looks gorgeous as Annie, so be sure to click on the previews below to see all the pictures in full size. Enjoy!
As promised, I have added photos from NBC Universal’s 2010 Upfront Presentation that was held in New York earlier today. Becki Newton was there to represent her new show Love Bites (of course) along with her co-star Greg Grunberg.
Becki looks beautiful as always in the 9 HQ pictures that have been added to the gallery. Simply click on the previews below to see them in full size.
According to Zap2it.com, NBC’s new romance anthology Love Bites is adding a guy to its regular cast, but the status of one of its two female regulars is uncertain.
NBC Entertainment president Angela Bromstad said Monday (May 17) at the network’s upfront presentation that Greg Grunberg (Heroes) is joining Becki Newton in the show’s regular cast (he was billed as a guest star in the pilot). The audience also got to see Grunberg’s character — a tattoo artist who’s married to a character played by Pamela Adlon (Californication) — in action in a vignette from the pilot, where he gets a chance at the No. 1 celebrity on his freebie list: Jennifer Love Hewitt.
While Grunberg is in, though, the future of Jordana Spiro on the show is unclear at the moment — thanks to her current job on TBS’ My Boys.
We noticed last week that all the episodic art from the pilot NBC posted features Newton, but Spiro is only in two of the shots — and is only shot from behind (as in the picture above) — which made us wonder about her status. She’s still listed as a regular in the network’s press materials and is featured in the show’s preview clips, but Bromstad didn’t name-check her on Monday.
NBC says Spiro was cast in second position to My Boys, whose fourth season on TBS begins July 25. If TBS decides to pick it up for another season, Spiro would stay there and Love Bites would replace her.
Stay tuned for pictures from the upfront presentation!
Two clips from the first episode of Love Bites – coming to NBC this fall – have been released onto the web, as well as a poster for the show (seen above)! Becki Newton will play Annie in this romantic comedy-series, also starring My Boys actress Jordana Spiro. Continue reading for the official press release and to watch the two clips from the show. Enjoy – and stay tuned for more on Love Bites!
The network will have its upfront presentation tomorrow night (hopefully Becki will attend!) with a 15-minute clip from Love Bites and trailers from the other new shows. Here’s what network executives said of the new fall lineup:
“This new schedule brings NBC back to basics with its commitment to quality scripted programming,” said NBC Universal TV Entertainment chairman Jeff Gaspin. “Our new shows are distinctive and feature a combination of the biggest talent, the brightest new stars and the strongest auspices in television. With this new schedule, we’re poised to take the next step toward our long-term goals with a lineup that has stabilized and has been building solid momentum through the second half of the season.”
Added NBC/Universal Media Studios primetime entertainment president Angela Bromstad: “Our team has been working tirelessly to achieve our ambitious goals and we are so pleased to see that these new series demonstrate tremendous upside for NBC. We feel that this development season introduces shows that will become part of the great programming legacy of our network.”
Awesome news, guys! According to The Ausiello Files, NBC has given early pickups to three new series — the dramatic thriller The Event, the comedy Outsourced, and the anthology series Love Bites. The official series description can be read below. I have also added the first promotional photo (to the right) of Becki Newton and Jordana Spiro from the show to the gallery!
From Emmy Award-winning writer-producer Cindy Chupack (Sex and the City), Love Bites is an hour-long romantic comedy anthology series featuring three loosely connected, modern stories of love, sex, marriage and dating. Each episode contains multiple vignettes, all illuminating the theme of love with an edgy, irreverent spin. Becki Newton (Ugly Betty) stars as Annie and Jordana Spiro (My Boys) stars as Frannie, the last two single girls standing after all of their friends get married. Annie is an infectiously bubbly optimist and Frannie is an always-a-bridesmaid realist. Their story will anchor the series, while other romantically-challenged characters will come and go each week. The pilot’s guest cast includes Jennifer Love Hewitt, Greg Grunberg, Craig Robinson, Jason Lewis, and Lindsay Price.
