Today is her 32nd birthday – and what a year it’s been for her! Not only is she pregnant with her first child, but she was also one of the most sought-after actresses for new TV shows this spring. I want to congratulate Becki on her special day and wish for her coming year to be an even better one than the last. And I’m sure it will be with all the recent happenings in her life.
Huge news – Becki Newton is pregnant with her first child! I’m so incredibly happy for our Becki and husband (and soon-to-be father!) Chris Diamantopoulos. Due to this (and the fact that Jordana Spiro has left the production), Love Bites has been moved to mid-season instead of it’s earlier announced spot on Thursdays.
As mentioned previously, Entertainment Weekly honored the talented actors that didn’t get nominated for an Emmy this year with an award of their own – the EWwys! Becki was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy for her portrayal of Amanda in Ugly Betty.
Unfortunately she lost the award to The Office’s Amy Ryan. It was a close race, though, because Ryan scored 24 percent of the EWwy vote, edging out Scrubs‘ Judy Reyes (22%), and Becki Newton (21%). Rounding out the field (in order) were Wanda Sykes (The New Adventures of Old Christine), Kristen Schaal (The Flight of the Conchords), and Nicollette Sheridan (Desperate Housewives).
You’re still a winner in our eyes, Becki! Hopefully you’ll get an Emmy next year instead! ;)

I’m sorry for not alerting you about this earlier, but I found out today. Becki appeared on Late Night with Conan O’Brien on Friday, looking absolutely amazing! Screen captures and perhaps a video clip as well will be added very soon.
Becki Newton belted out “Gene Simmons Is My Daddy” on Ugly Betty when her character Amanda finds out the Kiss rocker is her father.
And now she wants more.
No, not another ode to Mr. Simmons, but Newton says she’d like to release an album “someday.”
And she wouldn’t mind some help from an old college buddy from the University of Pennsylvania…
“You know who I love the most—John Legend,” Newton said last night at the Sunglass Hut and Gen Art opening of photographer Jeremy Kost’s Blinded by the Light exhibit at the Century City mall in L.A. “I used to see him playing the piano and singing on campus.”
When a friend suggested she duet with Legend, Newton beamed. “That’s a great idea! I should just call him up.”
